Sunday Christian Education


Grace Christian Education curriculum seeks to facilitate mastery of Bible content; understanding of the Bible in relation to life experiences; and a greater awareness of God’s self-disclosure, especially God’s redeeming love as revealed in Jesus Christ. It underscores the Biblical witness as the most effective means of teaching the gospel. The lessons give attention to issues such as: personal faith, ethics, human relationships, community responsibility, resurrection hope, and the implications of Christian discipleship under the Lordship of Christ and in the fellowship of his Spirit.

Studies this quarter explore the creative nature of Christ as it affects human life and the implications of his life for the world in which we live. The first unit is drawn from Ezekiel and the second and third units come from the New Testament.

Unit I
The Promise of New Life

Unit I is looks at five well-known passages from Ezekiel. The first three lessons examine new life as it was promised to Israel in exile. Lessons 4 and 5 look to the future God promised as it would be fulfilled many generations later in Jesus Christ.

Unit II
The Path to New Life

Unit II is developed from three passages in Luke and one in Acts. Lessons 6 and 7 examine the suffering and death of Jesus and his triumph over death on the first Easter Sunday. Lesson 8 continues with the last resurrection appearance of Jesus in Luke. Lesson 9 finds Peter in Lydda and Joppa bringing new life to others in the name and power of Christ.
